Rituals, rites, and traditions in this article are considered as one of fundamental factors of ethnical identification of nations. Rituals and traditions of modern Turkic nations date back to ancient Turkic ethnic culture, which was captured in texts of Orhon runic monuments. Ancient Turkic ethnic culture is considered from the position of conception of the world, which gives an opportunity to define basic values of ancient Turkic people. The author analyses ancient Turkic rituals such as the ritual of installation of balbals and head balbal; rite of initiation as a reflection of formation of hero warrior; burial rites as stereotypic model of ancient Turkic reality.
